The main itineraries include: Mudouyu, Jibeiyu, Xianjiaoyu, Gupoyu, and North Tiezhenyu. In addition, the features of Jinyu and Tudigongyu are especially introduced here. These two islands are not on the regular itinerary and tourists need to rent a boat to get to.
Jibeiyu spit and stone weirs are the most well-known features of this route. Mudouyu is the northernmost islet in Penghu. The island has a century-old lighthouse and its geological characteristic is that there are two different types of basalt on the island. Xianjiaoyu is the largest sandbank island in Penghu; the North Tiezhenyu has the largest marine erosion cave in Penghu. Besides, North Tiezhenyu is also the breeding ground of terns. In Gupoyu center, there are perlimonite layer and cat hole rocks. In winter, it is famous for its rich seaweed.
